The Scriptures
We believe the Bible, consisting of the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament, is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is God's complete revelation to humanity and remains sufficient and relevant for faith, life, and godliness ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
God Is Triune
We believe there is one true and living God who eternally exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and co-existent, yet one God (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully Man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now intercedes for believers at the right hand of the Father. We believe He will return in power and glory to judge the living and the dead.
We believe salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone, and that all who repent and place their faith in Him receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life (John 1:1, 14; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 4:15).
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, brings repentance, regenerates the believer, and indwells all who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He empowers believers for holy living, Christian witness, and effective ministry.
We believe in the baptism and empowerment of the Holy Spirit and in the operation of His spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church and the advancement of God's Kingdom (John 16:8-11; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:38; Romans 8:9; Galatians 5:16-25).
Humanity and Salvation
We believe that God created humanity, male and female, in His image for fellowship with Him. Through sin, humanity became separated from God and is unable to save itself. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ, whose death and resurrection provide redemption and reconciliation with God. We believe marriage is a sacred covenant established by God between one man and one woman and is to be honored according to biblical principles (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9).
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all believers united by faith in Jesus Christ. The Church exists to glorify God, proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, serve others, and fulfill the Great Commission through the power of the Holy Spirit. We believe in the fellowship, unity, and spiritual growth of believers ( Matthew 28:19-20; John 17:22; Hebrews 10:25).
Heaven and Hell
We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost. Those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the presence of God in heaven. Those who reject Christ will face eternal separation from God in hell ( Matthew 25:31-46; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-10; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 22:3-5).
Our Commitment
At Luke 4:18 Ministries, we are committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, teaching the whole counsel of God's Word, equipping believers for spiritual growth and service, strengthening families, and advancing God's Kingdom until Christ returns. "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" ( Hebrews 13:8).
